At long last I am back. Since my last post in November, I have a had a beautiful baby girl. She was a healthy 8.10 pounds and 20 inches. I gained a total about 35 pounds with this pregnancy .... 15 pounds less than with my first daughter. I worked out throughout my entire pregnancy and went to my karate classes until a week before I had her. I would have actually kept going except that I got bronchitis and couldn't really do much of anything.
It is now 10 weeks later (she was born on Tax Day!) and I am just a mere 5 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. Of course, that is not my ideal weight, but I am still happy about that.
After Ellie was born, I of course did lose some weight, but it stopped melting off with about 15 more pounds to go. I am nursing her, which helped some, but that also makes me very hungry. Constant hunger combined with staying home and having easy access to food at all times is not a good combination. So I decided after 5 weeks that it was time to go back to Weight Watchers. Well, I have since lost 9.5 pounds! I am now at 143 pounds. I can wear most of my pre-pregnancy clothes (though some are a little tight still). I still think that's the best weight loss system out there. Sure people can drop lots of pounds on other programs, but is it healthy and is it permanent? I would really like to get to 130 pounds and I feel confident that if I stick with Weight Watchers, I can get there and keep it off.
I have also gotten back to running (yay!). I ran a 5k at the beginning of the month. And I am back to karate full time. I am now a middle brown belt.
Anyway, I am hoping to keep this up more often, so check back frequently to see what interesting stuff I can dig up and to track my weight loss progress.
