Americans Clean Their Plates, No Matter How Full

...Not that we didn't already know we eat too much. But here's yet another study that indicates people are eating larger portions, even at home. I think it's almost universal in our country that people just don't aren't in touch with their stomachs anymore. I know that even with as much thought as I put into my eating habits, I have a really hard time knowing when I have had enough to eat. I do try and limit my portion sizes, but if I have a lot of food on my plate, it's hard to know when I have had enough, even after I have had a full serving.

How do we reconnect our minds with our stomachs??

Giant preschoolers wrestle, eat ice cream

This article is about the world's largest preschooler, a 4-year-old who is 3 feet, 11 inches and weighs 123 pounds, wrestling another child who is nearly as obese. It breaks my heart that these children are actually encouraged to be this way. I am sure it's is not dissimilar to the Sumo wrestlers in Japan, who start their path to obesity at an early age also. But they also almost always die at an early age because their bodies just can't handle the weight they must sustain.
