Here we go again. With the sequel to Bridget Jones' Diary on the way, we get to hear all over again about Renee Zellweger's trials and tribulations in gaining and losing weight.

Poor baby, one doughnut a day just wouldn't do the trick, so she's forced to eat 20. And that's only part of her lunch!

I really like her movies and I think she's adorable, but I had a hard time not being offended by the first Bridget Jones where everyone was talking about those extra 20 pounds she had to gain. Frankly, I thought she looked like a normal healthy person.

Now they're talking about how she had to go from a size 6 to a 14 for the sequel. I know that a 14 isn't ideal, but come on! She's still drop-dead gorgeous.

So in case you're interested in GAINING 20 pounds, here's a description of her diet.

What the Rich and Famous Eat ...

It's hard sometimes to look at these glamorous people and not want to look like them, or at least have their figures. But when you consider how they eat to stay that way, I just don't think it's worth it. I know I need to cut back on the amount that I eat. But these people, it seems, are on the brink of starving themselves. Read more here.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that it is ok to feel hungry. In fact, a lot of times I feel like I am not even sure what that feels like. Since I am home most of the time, it's easy to eat as soon as I feel the first signs of hunger, so that I really never get that complete feeling of hunger. I am not saying that one should starve themselves. In fact, I am a true believer in the idea of mini-snacks several times a day, instead of just 3 meals. But that doesn't mean we have to leap into the fridge every hour or two to stave off those hunger pangs. I won't waste away to nothing if I wait a little longer!

My husband really likes those yogurt smoothie drinks you can get in the grocery store, but they are loaded with sugar and calories, so I usually just take a sip of them and pass them on. So I was excited to see that Dannon came out with a 'Light 'n Fit' version using Splenda. Well, if you like flavored sugar milk, then you will probably like this. It is way to sweet for my tastebuds. They come in a four-pack and it took me days to finish just one. I think I am going to have to throw the rest away.

I am back from my house-hunting/research trip to Atlanta. I had a great time, though I mostly looked at houses and did stuff a suburban mom would do if I lived there. It is really beautiful down there.

I was also very pleased with my eating habits while down there, considering we ate every meal out. I did indulge here and there, but I stuck to normal size portions, rarely finishing a meal. And, I did manage to make it to the hotel fitness center for 40 minutes of cardio. So all in all, even though I gained a couple of pounds, I am very happy with how I did.

One day at a time, right?

Interesting article in the Washington Post today: Lean Plate Club: Portions for the Pint-Sized

More on the super-sizing of America and how it impacts our children's eating habits. I noticed the other day that Burger King now has a special kids menu for "big kids". The sad thing is, I think most kids meals are really appropriate for adults in terms of serving size, and now they are saying that the kids meals aren't enough even for kids. What will they come up with next?
